It is located in the village of Lindås. The church is part of the Lindås parish in the Nordhordland deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden, neo-gothic style church was built in 1865 by the architect Ole Syslak. The church, which seats about 370 people, was consecrated on 20 September 1865. There has been a church here at Lindås since the middle ages. The previous church was built of stone, and it stood next to the present church.
